On Wednesday, May 16, The Women’s Board of Winnetka Community House celebrated this year’s approaching Antiques + Modernism Winnetka show at the “Modernize your Wardrobe” event at Neapolitan in Winnetka. Along with guests from Chartwell Insurance Services, Women’s Board members enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while shopping for and admiring everything from jeans and t-shirts to elegant cocktail attire from world-renowned designers such as Alexander McQueen, Jason Wu, and Lanvin. Kelly Golden, owner of Neapolitan, travels the globe to bring exclusive, luxury fashion and accessories to Chicago’s North Shore – creating the ideal setting for Antiques + Modernism Winnetka supporters to celebrate style and design.

“The Women’s Board of Winnetka Community House is incredibly grateful to Neapolitan for hosting this fashionable and fun event,” said 2012 Show Chair Kristin Lolli. “Extending modern design beyond the walls of Winnetka Community House allows us to introduce new collectors and enthusiasts to the aesthetic offered at Antiques + Modernism Winnetka.”

The Winnetka Show will encompass periods of design ranging from the 17th century to the mid 20th century. Esteemed dealers from across the country will showcase fine examples of American, British, French and Asian antiques, as well as pieces from the Arts and Crafts, Art Nou¬veau, Art Deco and Mid-Century design movements. The exhibition and sale will offer furniture, silver, ceramics, jewelry, garden antiques, lighting, rugs, textiles, fine and folk art, architectural artifacts and more. Collectors, designers and hobbyists alike will delight in the extensive inventory of beautiful objects presented for sale at the historic Winnetka Community House.

Antiques + Modernism Winnetka commences with a Preview Party featuring a cocktail buffet reception on Thursday, October 18 at Winnetka Community House from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $125 if purchased in advance and $150 if purchased at the door. Tickets include a three-day pass to the show, which runs throughout the weekend: Friday, October 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Three-day admission is $15 if purchased in advance and $20 if purchased at the door. The Winnetka Community House was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in August, 2007. The Woman’s Board’s mission is to provide financial and volunteer support for this important institution.
