See Local Artists' Work in "Best of the Best" Show at Mayslake Peabody Estate

Explore an exhibit of “The Best of the Best” works of art from the Alliance of Fine Art. The exhibit is open to the public now through May 24 with viewing hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook.

The Alliance of Fine Art is a nonprofit group of organizations and guilds that partner to advance art education and appreciation in the community. The show features more than 80 pieces of watercolor, oil, photography, pottery, jewelry and mixed media that have all earned awards from their respective leagues or guilds. Art fans are also invited to celebrate the show during a free closing reception on May 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Visitors can also learn about the artistry and architecture of Mayslake Hall through guided tours on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30, 10, 11 and 11:30 a.m. Tours cost $5 per person and explore the history of the estate and the restoration projects now benefitting the hall.

Mayslake Peabody Estate is located at 1717 W. 31st St. one-quarter mile west of Route 83.
