Local Talent Gets International Recognition

In 1976, local Oak Parker, Dave Gregoire, had no idea that his over the top Halloween costume would inspire him and Naperville resident Sarah McNulty to enter an act for a local fundraiser. After that one small act, Those Funny Little People, has grown to become a Chicago standard for parades, conventions, weddings and gatherings of all kinds. Over the last 35 years Sarah and Dave have stitched together countless costumes and have expanded their company to over 30 staff members.

To add to their success just this past summer, their act was featured on NBC’s hit show, America’s Got Talent. Those Funny Little People from Chicago got national and international recognition for being an act with big talent. Their following on Twitter and Facebook has soared over the last couple of months more than this local duo ever expected, landing them back on America’s Got Talent for a coveted Wild Card second chance. The invitations to perform all over the United States and internationally, are streaming in. They have received calls from China, Belgium, Australia, France, and even the Kingdom of Bahrain. This upcoming winter they will be ushering in Santa’s arrival all over the United States in places like Florence South Carolina, Jacksonville North Carolina, McLean Virginia, and Camp Hill Pennsylvania just to name a few. Of course locally, they remain a hot commodity.

Because of America’s Got Talent, Dave and Sarah expanded their act to include live vocals for their performers, opening up a whole new option for their corporate, convention and sales meeting clients.

“It’s important to us that Chicago knows we remain loyal to the fans that have helped us and supported us, laughed with us over the last 35 years.” says Dave Gregoire. “We will be appearing for our 8th consecutive year at Brookfield Zoo's Holiday Magic throughout the month of December and we have numerous appearances scheduled through the fall.” Those Funny Little People have special pricing packages just for their local fans, by the way.

Throughout the past summer Dave has remained active in the local Oak Park community. He is a cantor for his local church and sings in his church choir. “The recognition, has certainly kept us busy, but it’s still really fun.”
