Full house for DuPage PADS 6th Annual Taste of Hope

It was a full-house at this year's DuPage PADS Taste of Hope. More than 500 people participated in the event took place March 8th at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn. The event, which sold out a week in advance, featured food and beverages from more than 20 area restaurants including Sullivan Steak House in Naperville, Glen Prairie in Glen Ellyn and Vivo in Chicago. The event also featured a live and silent auction and a raffle. Despite a sluggish economy, donations for the event were plentiful. "People and companies were incredibly generous," said planning committee member and Glen Ellyn resident Terri Wymore. And for many of the guests, this event is the one they plan to attend every year. "We believe in the cause," said Naperville resident Jeanne Budding. "We want to do anything we can to help." The money raised will go to assist the DuPage PADS support services that go beyond offering an overnight shelter. "Funds raised will help with our transportation, medical and programs that assist our clients," said DuPage PADS Executive Director Carol Simler.
