Annual Frosty Fest Event Captured the Magic of the Holiday Season

West Chicago’s Frosty Fest lived up to its name with softly falling snow adding extra bling to the hundreds of lights that City and Park District crews had wrapped around trees and lampposts in preparation of the annual celebration. Those that attended enjoyed the scenic picture of a glistening downtown, a spectacular tree lighting, holiday crafts, an ice sculptor, live reindeer and everyone’s favorite visitor from the North Pole ~ Santa.

The City of West Chicago wishes to thank the entire Frosty Fest committee, all the groups that performed, volunteered or donated to the event. They included the following:

West Chicago Park District • West Chicago Public Library • West Chicago Chamber of Commerce • West Chicago Fire District • Fox Community Center • American Legion Post 300 • VFW Post 6791 • West Chicago Sister Cities • West Chicago Rotary Club • West Chicago Lions Club • Friends of the City Museum • St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store • ESDA • Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #85

Children and their families delighted in horse-drawn sleigh rides, live music and free refreshments. The City plans on posting a slide show to its website, www.westchicago.org, later this week for the enjoyment of those that couldn’t make it as well as for those that may wish to re-live all the magic!
