For the Illinois House

46th District: Villa Park attorney Dan Kordik has been a fixture in local politics since the 1980s. John “Chip” Humes is a promising newcomer with a less conventional background: He’s a funeral director who used to be a firefighter-paramedic. Both are common-sense fiscal conservatives, well-informed about the challenges facing the next General Assembly. Kordik has logged more miles, serving on the planning and zoning commission and the local elementary school board and in his current position as York Township clerk since 2005. But we are intrigued by Humes’ diverse resume, which includes leadership positions as president of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and the Addison Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He’d bring an unusual perspective to the House. He is endorsed in the GOP primary.
