Wake Up Beach Beautiful

You don’t have to actually spend hours surrounded by sand to achieve that healthy, effortless beach look. Try these tips from the pros at Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas before you go to bed and, with a few finishing touches in the morning, you’ll look beach glam.

Catch a Wave
Beach-waved tresses are easier to achieve than you think:
1. Divide your hair into two three-strand braids. For best results, braid along the hairline all the way down then finish the braid with a slight back comb — instead of a pin or elastic band — to prevent indentations.

2. Go to sleep and let the braids work their magic. If you don’t have time to sleep on it, you can add a shot of heat to the braids with a diffuser then proceed directly to step three.

3. Remove the braids and shake the hair to loosen the wave.

4. Finish with the right products. Add shine with a product like Pureology Cuticle Polisher, then set the waves using a spray like Mario Tricoci Haircare Ultimate Sculpting Spray.

Get the Glow
Self-tanners have come a long way. Now with the right product even novices can achieve a beautiful bronze without the stress. The experts at Mario Tricoci recommend St. Tropez products for first time self-tanners and pros alike because, with proper application, St. Tropez doesn’t tan too deeply or give your skin that dreaded orange cast.

Preparation is the secret to a great self-tan. First, be sure to exfoliate and moisturize your skin as needed so the bronzer goes on smoothly and evenly. Then use the special St. Tropez mitt to gently apply the tanner. Smooth, don’t rub, the product over the skin; rubbing can result in an uneven finish. Don’t worry if you go over the same spot twice — just make sure you cover all of your skin. After the product dries you can hit the hay. Your morning shower will help even out any problem areas.
