TribLocal High School Player ofthe Month voting Ends Feb. 16

The TribLocal High School Player of The Month contest is underway featuring deserving student athletes from local high schools.
Liberty Auto City in Libertyville and TribLocal have teamed up to recognize student athletes and make donations to local schools.
Contest sponsor Liberty Auto City will make a monetary donation to the winner’s school and the athlete will be honored with a plaque. Last month’s winner was Lake Zurich’s Mirko Grcic.
Any registered user of TribLocal.com may vote once every 24 hours. Registering is easy and free. Voting will end at 9 p.m. Feb. 16.Click here to vote

Nominees include:
Libertyville
Alex Snarski was second in the 200-yard freestyle at the Cougar College Events Invitational.
Mundelein
During a 4-game set in the Granite City Hills Holiday Classic, Mundelein junior guard Robert Knar set the school’s all-time record for three-pointers made. He hit 218 threes early in January. He averaged 21 points, 7.7 rebounds and 7.8 assists at the tournament. He also scored 34 against Warren High School.
Vernon Hills
Alex Zuniga placed 6th at the Hinsdale Central Diving Invitational.
Carmel
Senior, Joe Salvi is currently leading the Metro HL in scoring with 47 goals and 33 assists for 80 points.  He is a captain for a Corsairs Hockey team that posts an impressive 30-11-4 record this season. As of Jan. 27, Joe has played in 9 games and has recorded 12 goals and 6 assists for 18 points including 3 game winning goals. Joe was selected to the Metro All-Star game and recorded a goal and 2 assists in the game against the Metro West.  Joe is a finalist to receive All-State honors
Lake Zurich
Mike Schmitt had the high game and high series in bowling team’s win over Stevenson and he was named first team all-conference.
Wauconda
Dorina Badino-Berger had the high game and series in win over Lakes High School.
Stevenson
Ali Castriano placed fourth in all-around with a score of 37.6. She scored 9.6 on vault, 9.45 on floor exercise, 9.3 on beam and 9.25 on bars at the Lake County Invite.
