Man damages cash register after refused phone, and more

The following items were taken from Schaumburg Police reports on June 11.

Property damage

  • A 23-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 3:55 a.m. June 3 at Jewel, 2501 W. Schaumburg Road, and charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property. The man, who appeared intoxicated, asked to use the phone inside the grocery store. When the person he was calling did not answer, he asked to use the phone a second time. Upon refusal, the man became angry and pushed a cash register off the counter.
  • A 19-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested at 8:45 p.m. May 30 in the 2200 block of Pennview Lane, and charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property after he broke the window of a parked car.

Soliciting

  • A 24-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 3:10 p.m. June 9 at Marshalls, 1488 E. Golf Road, and charged with violating a no soliciting local ordinance after he was trying to sell candy outside the store without having the proper license. A juvenile was also cited. Police did not release the juvenile’s age or hometown.

Theft

  • A 35-year-old Schaumburg woman was arrested at 2:15 p.m. June 9 at Kohl’s, 171 N. Barrington Road, and cited with violating a retail theft local ordinance after she stole two pieces of lingerie.
  • A 52-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested at 11:50 a.m. June 5 at Target, 1235 E. Higgins Road, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after he stole a bicycle.
  • A 22-year-old Elk Grove Village woman was arrested at 3:05 p.m. June 3 at J.C. Penney in Woodfield Mall, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after she stole a bathing suit.
  • A 40-year-old Schaumburg woman was arrested at 7 p.m. June 2 at J.C. Penney in Woodfield Mall, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after she stole four pieces of lingerie.
  • A 55-year-old Arlington Heights woman was arrested at 9:14 p.m. June 1 at J.C. Penney in Woodfield Mall, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after he stole 11 items of clothing.
  • An 18-year-old Wheeling man was arrested at 5:20 p.m. June 1 at Macy’s in Woodfield Mall, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after he stole 10 items of clothing.
  • A 40-year-old Hoffman Estates woman was arrested at 1:57 p.m. May 31 at Kohl’s, 410 E. Golf Road, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after she stole 10 pieces of houseware items.
  • An 18-year-old Elk Grove Village woman was arrested at 4:45 p.m. May 31 at Kohl’s, 171 N. Barrington Road, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after she stole six items of clothing.
  • A 53-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested at 8:21 a.m. May 29 near Bode and Green Knoll roads, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after she stole two pieces of jewelry from Kohl’s.
  • A 19-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested at 5:15 p.m. May 27 at Macy’s in Woodfield Mall, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after he stole two shirts.

Driving under the influence

  • A 35-year-old Michigan Man was arrested at 1:32 a.m. June 3 near Higgins Road and National Parkway, and charged with two counts of misdemeanor driving under the influence and cited for speeding and disobeying a traffic control device.
  • A 40-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested at 11:18 p.m. May 29 near Golf Road and Basswood Drive, and charged with two counts of misdemeanor driving under the influence and cited for improper lane usage.
  • A 60-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested at 4:35 a.m. May 26 in the 2500 block of West Schaumburg Road, and charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence.
