Thirteen-year-old driver arrested for driving without a license, and more

These incidents and arrests were taken from Romeoville Police reports released April 12, Will County Sheriff’s Police reports released April 11 and information from the Will County Circuit Clerk’s Office and Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Underage Driver

  • A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested April 5 for driving without a valid driver’s license, improper lane use and driving too fast for conditions during a 6:40 p.m. traffic stop at Wesglen Parkway and Sunflower Drive.

Burglary

  • Ten feet of copper piping was reported taken April 2 from inside of a property on the 500 block of Amherst Avenue. Replacement value was unknown.

Firearms-Related

  • A 40-year-old Bolingbrook man from the 400 block of Blair Lane was arraigned April 11 on one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with an alleged March 12 offense on the 200 block of Gordon Avenue in Romeoville. He is free on $75,000 bail.

Armed Robbery

  • A¬†22-year-old Romeoville man from the 1900 block of Whitmore Drive is scheduled to appear in court May 9 on one count of armed robbery and one count of robbery in connection with an alleged March 20 rip-off of another man in Romeoville that didn’t involve a firearm.

Bogus Vehicle-Theft Report Alleged

  • A 25-year-old Romeoville man from the 400 block of Berkshire Avenue is scheduled to appear in court May 2 on one count of making a false vehicle-theft report and one count of insurance fraud involving $10,000-$100,000 in September 2010. The charge, approved in April, stems from an Illinois State Police investigation. He was freed on $40,000 bail following his April 11 arrest.

Physical Violence

  • A 33-year-old Romeoville man from the 200 block of Hemlock Avenue was arrested April 9 on a warrant charging him with two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and one count of domestic battery in connection with and alleged November 2011 offense in unincorporated Romeoville and two counts of leaving the scene of a Feb. 16 collision in Romeoville. He is scheduled to appear at a May 8 status hearing.
  • An 18-year-old Romeoville male from the 1500 block of Arborwood Circle is scheduled to appear in court May 7 for a pretrial hearing on a charge of aggravated battery stemming from an alleged March 11 offense in Romeoville. He is free on $15,000 with the condition that he avoid contact with the alleged victim.
  • A 20-year-old Romeoville man from the 400 block of Ascot Lane received a 24-month suspended sentence¬†after pleading guilty to aggravated battery in September 2011 in Bolingbrook. He also was credited with the 109 days he previously served in jail since he was charged.

Criminal Damage to Property

  • Three dozen flowers were reported uprooted April 8 from a residential yard on the 400 block of Arnold Avenue. Replacement cost was estimated at $500.

Motor Vehicle Burglary

  • Three vehicles on the 1600 block of Dahlia Court were reported broken into on April 3. Approximately $5 in change was taken from one, two cell phones valued at $200 and a wallet containing $4 were taken from another and an iPod, I-Pass and change with a total value of $130 were taken from the third.
  • Prescription glasses and a CD changer faceplate with a total value of $425 were reported taken April 9 from an unlocked vehicle that had been left idling in the driveway of a residence on the 500 block of West Elle Street reported a burglary from motor vehicle.
  • An $80 stereo faceplate was reported taken April 8 from a vehicle parked in a residential driveway on the 500 block of Frieh Drive.

DUI

  • A 32-year-old Bolingbrook man from the 200 block of Capitol Drive is scheduled to be arraigned May 2 for DUI, improper lane use, disobeying a traffic device, illegal transportation of alcohol, obstructed windshield and obstructed registration. The charges stem from an April 2 traffic stop at Romeo Road and Independence Boulevard.
  • A 51-year-old Joliet man was arrested April 1 for DUI and ticketed for improper lane use, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper use of registration during a traffic stop at Illinois Route 53 and Airport Road.
  • A 49-year-old Plainfield man was arrested April 6 for DUI and ticketed for driving too fast for conditions and operating an uninsured motor vehicle during a traffic stop at Airport and Frontage roads.
  • A 23-year-old Romeoville man from the 200 block of Belmont Drive was arrested April 7 for DUI and ticketed for disobeying a traffic signal and operating a motor vehicle with a malfunctioning registration plate light during a traffic stop at Illinois Route 53 and Alexander Circle.
  • A 22-year-old Romeoville man from the 400 block of Macon Avenue was arrested April 9 for DUI and ticketed for illegal parking and resisting arrest during a police contact on the 0-100 block of Ponderosa Drive.

Retail Theft

  • An 18-year-old Romeoville woman from the 2100 block of Greengold Street was arrested April 8 for retail theft during a police contact at a big-box department store on the 400 block of South Weber Road.
  • A Blu-ray home theater and Blu-disc player with a total value of $246 were reported taken April 2 from a business on the 400 block of South Weber Road.
