2012 Plainfield POST 1080 Baseball

Plainfield POST 1080 outlasted the Ottawa POST 33 in American Legion basball action on Wednesday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 3-2 win at PCHS.

Plainfield POST 1080 pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. With Phillps getting a leadoff walk Cody Kastel tried to sacrifice phillips to seconnd, but Phillips was out on the fielders choice. Kyle Wiktor came up with a man on first and one out, Wiktor executed the hit and run to perfection driving the ball up the middle and moved Kastel from first to third. With 1 out and runners on the corners Wiktor stole 2nd on the first pitch. Ryan Chelius then took the next pitch and drove a deep fly ball to right to score Cody Kastel and give Plainfield POST 1080 the Win.

Ryan Harpole got the win for POST 1080. He tossed two innings of shutout ball. Harpole struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

After a scoreless stalemate, Ottawa finally got on the board with one run in the fourth. Ottawa scored on an RBI single by #24.

Ottawa tied the game in the sixth on a steal of home.
