The "Listen To Your Mother" show, a national series of readings celebrating motherhood created by Madison, Wisconsin-based humorist Ann Imig in 2010, is making its inaugural appearance in Chicago on Sunday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater.

Fifteen Chicago-area writers (including Plainfield's Lou Lohman) will read their pieces on the beauty, the beast, and the barely-rested that is motherhood.

The show is being co-produced by Plainfield's Tracey Becker and Naperville's Melisa Wells. Becker and Wells applied last fall to bring the show to Chicago and are thrilled to have been chosen. They are building the show's Chicago presence from the ground up, as this will be an annual event.

Ten percent of the ticket proceeds will benefit Bright Pink, the only national non-profit organization focusing on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women while providing support for high-risk individuals.

More information, including how to buy tickets, can be found on the show's website,
