June Events at the Green Hills Public Library!

I Can Eat That!
Whether carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore, our creature features help us eat. By looking at clues we will investigate food preferences and why we all don’t eat some things. Wednesday, June 6th at 6:30pm. Registration required.

Summer Reading Program 2012
Reading is So Delicious! Summer Reading is from Monday, June 11th through Saturday, August 4th. You will also be eligible to enter the raffle to win great prizes, such as a Nook for Youth or a Kindle for Adult readers! The Summer Reading Program is open to residents of Hickory Hills and Palos Hills. Register at the Library or online at www.greenhillslibrary.org.

Rainbow Cone
We are kicking off this year’s Summer Reading program with Rainbow Cone on Monday, June 11th from 3:00pm-7:00pm! Come in and sign up for Adult or Youth Summer Reading and you will get a free Rainbow Cone!

If You Give a Cat a Cupcake
Enjoy this theatrical production of the popular book, “If You Give a Cat a Cupcake” by Laura Joffe Numeroff. Monday, June 11th at 2:00pm. Registration required.

You Can Brew It!
Do you enjoy good quality draft beer? Home brewing is a fun and rewarding hobby that is enjoyed by millions of people all over the world. Award winning home brewer Scott Pointon will discuss the equipment, ingredients, brewing process, and resources available to would-be brew masters. Tuesday, June 12th at 6:30pm. Where Does My Food Come From?
Did your apple travel half way around the world or from a tree just down the street? Discover where your food really comes from and all the resources used to produce it. Ages 7 and up. Wednesday, June 13th at 6:30pm. Registration required.

Father’s Day Craft
Children will be creating decorations for a travel mug for their special loved ones. Registration is limited to the first 42 children. Thursday, June 14th at 6:30pm. Registration required.

Green Team Time with Miss Emily
Enjoy nature themed stories and activities. There will be plenty of stories to share after this fun-filled program! Children ages 6 to 8 years of age

Teen Pizza & Movie Night
Come enjoy pizza and a movie at the Library! We will be showing “Waterboy” on Thursday, June 21st at 6:00pm. Registration required.

Walt Disney World 101
Want to plan a trip to Walt Disney World? Karen Luster, a seasoned Disney traveler, will share her tips for making a trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando easier, more affordable, and more streamlined! Questions about your Disney trip? Naturally Edible
Just because the wildlife is eating something doesn’t mean you can eat it too! We will learn about some local wild edibles as well as the poisonous ones. Wednesday, June 28th at 6:30pm. Registration required.

Family Movie Time
Come with the family to enjoy a free movie. We will be showing “Ratatouille” on Friday, June 29th at 4:00pm. Each person gets popcorn and lemonade! All ages are welcome. Registration required.
