Motor oil in mail slots of condo board members, and more

The following items were taken from Palos Hills police reports.


Someone poured motor oil into the mail slots of all the condominium board members Dec. 2 at the Stonebridge Court Condominium Complex in the 11100 block of Stonebridge Court, police said.

Someone shoved toothpicks into the locks of a bookstore the week of Dec. 2 in the 8000 block of West 111th Street, police said. An employee arriving for work was unable to gain access to the store due to the damage, police said.


A female student was arrested Dec. 2 and charged with illegal possession of fireworks at Stagg High School in the 11100 block of Roberts Road, police said. An employee at the school found the girl with the fireworks in with her belongings.


A television, computer, iPod and an external computer hard drive were all reported stolen Dec. 2 in the burglary of a home in the 10000 block of South Hill Terrace, police said.


A 22-year-old Orland Park man was arrested Dec. 3 and charged with DUI, speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol after he was spotted by a patrolman driving erratically at a high rate of speed in the 10300 block of South Harlem Avenue, police said.
