Stagg student screams at instructor for waking him up, and more

These items were taken from Palos Hills Police reports released on Nov. 14.


  • A man reported that he was robbed at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Nov. 8 while standing in the 8800 block of West 95th Street, police said. The victim told police he took his wallet out and was counting his money. While he was holding his wallet, an unknown offender drove past on a bicycle and snatched the wallet.

 Drug-related charges

  •  A male juvenile was arrested on Nov. 10 and charged with possession of drug equipment after an employee at Stagg High School found it on him at the school in the 11100 block of Roberts Road, police said. Police later found a pipe used to smoke cannabis on the student who claimed that he brought it to school because he feared his mother would find it at their home, police said.
  •  Two male juvenile high school students were arrested on Nov. 10 and charged with possession of marijuana after Stagg High School officials found both of them smoking cannabis in a bathroom on school property, police said.

 Public disturbance

  •  Police were dispatched to Stagg High School regarding a disturbance shortly after 8 p.m. Nov. 10 after a student began yelling and shouting obscenities at a night school instructor for waking him up during class, police said. The student fled on foot before police arrived, police said.

Property damage

  •  A 22-year-old Burbank man was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with criminal damage to property and reckless conduct after he allegedly threw a beer bottle at the side of a squad car in the parking lot of Durbin’s restaurant in Palos Hills, police said.
  • The door to a bakery was damaged in the 10300 block of South Harlem Avenue on Nov. 13 in an attempted break-in, police said. No entry was gained to the business.


  •  A 31-year-old Oak Lawn woman was arrested Nov. 11 and charged with DUI after police officers observed her blocking the entrance to a parking lot with her parking lights on at approximately 3 a.m. in the 10300 block of Roberts Road. The arrestee was also charged with improper lane usage and driving without insurance.
  •  A 28-year-old Orland Park man was arrested Nov. 11 and charged with DUI after an officer noticed him driving on the wrong side of the road at a high rate of speed in the 10900 block of Roberts Road at approximately 4 a.m. The arrestee also admitted to the officer that he was in possession of cannabis, and was also charged with speeding, improper lane usage and possession of cannabis.
