Chicago Christian Collaborates with Heartland Blood Centers

Written by Ryan Ahrens, Class of 2012

On Thursday, October 27 Chicago Christian High School hosted its biannual student blood drive. The blood drive was organized by the student council and sponsored by Heartland Blood Centers. It provided the opportunity for students at the age of sixteen years and older to donate their blood.

The event called for a lot of volunteer work by CCHS students. The work began early in the morning with equipment set-up, and ended in the late afternoon, assisting Heartland with clean up and the transportation of their materials.

In the end, over fifty students signed up to give blood throughout the day, and more than thirty units of blood were collected.
