Randy’s Market closes its doors

Hundreds of people stopped by Saturday to say goodbye to Randy's Market. The grocery store, a fixture in Orland Park for 25 years, closed its doors at 6 p.m. "A piece of us is dying today. It's time, in a sense, to say goodbye and to say thanks," said Rev. Don Borling, pastor of All Saints Lutheran Church, who offered a blessing. "This is like losing a loved one. Our kids have crashed and burned and had temper tantrums in Aisle 3. We put our groceries on the counter and forgot our wallet and checkbook and you smile and say, 'It's OK, come back when you can.'
