Florida man charged for taking a swing at a country club employee, and more

The following items were taken from Orland Park Police reports released April 12 and April 16.

Country Club Uproar

  • A 47-year-old Sunrise, Fla., man is scheduled to appear in court May 16 on charges of assault and disorderly conduct after allegedly taking a swing at a Silver Lakes Country Club employee on March 29. Police said the employee had refused to serve more alcohol to the Floridian, who had given alcoholic drinks to minors.

Parole Violation

  • A 32-year-old convicted felon who allegedly violated his parole on a seven-year sentence for aggravated battery with a firearm was taken into custody April 3 at a home on the 9100 block of Lunar Court. Orland Park Police served the Illinois Department of Corrections warrant to the man, who was scheduled to be discharged from prison May 15. He had been staying at the address since August 2011.


  • A 28-year-old Orland Park man from the 8800 block of Prestwick Lane is scheduled to appear in court April 24 on charges of DUI, improper lane use and speeding in connection with his 11:55 p.m. April 4 arrest on the 14000 block of Harlem Avenue. Police reportedly pursued him from the 15400 block of Harlem at 80 mph.
  • A 21-year-old Oak Lawn man is scheduled to appear in court May 16 on charges of DUI, driving in the wrong lane, improper lane use and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with his 11:10 p.m. March 29 arrest on the 15800 block of LaGrange Road. His passenger, a 20-year-old Oak Lawn man was cited for underage consumption of alcohol.
  • A 38-year-old Chicago man was arrested April 2 for DUI, making an improper turn and lacking proof of motor vehicle insurance during a 12:50 a.m. traffic stop on the 13500 block of LaGrange Road.
