TribLocal High School Player of the Month voting is underway


The High School Player of The Month contest is underway featuring deserving student athletes from local high schools. and TribLocal have teamed up to recognize student athletes and make donations to local schools. Contest sponsor will make a monetary donation to the winner’s school and the athlete will be honored with a plaque.

The contest will end at 9 p.m. Feb. 16 Registered users can vote once every 24 hours at Registering is easy and free. Click here to vote.

Nominees include:


Providence’s Eddie Klimara, a four-time Dvorak champion, captured his fourth straight Catholic League title. Moving up a weight class from his normal 126 pounds, Klimara won the 132-pound title and became the 12th four-time champ in the league’s history. He was honored as the Catholic League’s outstanding senior.

Tinley Park

Andrew Griffin placed first in the 200 free and 500 freestyle at the Evergreen Park Invite.


Glorind Lisha had 19 points in a win over Lincoln Way East.

Lincoln-Way East

Kyle Langenderfer won four matches to take the 138-pound championship in the Southwest Suburban Conference tournament. The wins raised Langenderfer’s record to 34-2.

Lincoln-Way West

Hayden Witt scored 21 points for Lincoln-Way West in a loss to LaSalle-Peru.

Lincoln-Way Central

Tyler Price won all of his matches in an early January meet. He also won the title at 113 pounds at theBatavia Invitational.
