Dashboard Cookies

Shots of baking cookies on the dashboard of our car during the Midwestern heatwave. Car smells wonderful!

The trick is to make sure the daily temperature is going to stay above 95F for at least 3 hours. Use an oven thermometer in the car to make sure the interior temperature stays over 180F. Bake for 3 hours or more but do not open the doors or crack the windows.

Also, do not use eggs or dairy products in your recipe because the car will not get hot enough to ensure safety.

  1. @sheilaraddatz I hadn’t thought of that but I was disappointed at how quickly the cookie smell dissipated.

  2. @conwaygroup LOL! I only had to move the car about 10 feet and baked 2 dozen. So, um, see, now I have no idea where to start to figure this out. But my guess is that it was pretty efficient ;-P

  4. Luv it! Are you trying to sell your car? They say if you want to sell your home to bake cookies in it…..(bad joke, I know).
