Chicago Curling Club hosts athletes from all over the suburbs

The Chicago Curling Club has hosted a wide variety of people over the years. The club features serious league players, casual players and those who qualify for national and international tournaments. Curlers come from as far north as Antioch and Wisconsin and blanket the northern and western suburbs as far as Naperville, according to Jennifer Geake, who is in charge of club rentals and public relations. Geake, who participates in the sport and used to curl with her grandmother Co McArthur until McArthur retired from the sport at 95, said even though they aren’t full-time players, are curlers at her club are passionate about the sport. “Curling is their hobby but they still come out three or four nights a week after work,” Geake said. “The people who make the national tournaments practice and play constantly.” Click here for the full story
