Who doesn't enjoy having dinner cooked for them, especially on a Friday night? The first "Get Ready with Spaghetti" fundraiser was held at Maple School on June 1 to help prepare participants for the 12th Annual Lew Blond Memorial 5K Run/Walk, which was held on June 2 at Maple. For $5.00 a plate, attendees had a spaghetti dinner, garlic bread and salad, organized and served by the District 30 PTOs.

"We raised over $500 and enjoyed wonderful donated food from Marcello's in Northbrook. They offered both regular and gluten-free pasta, and the leftover food was donated to the Northfield Township Food Pantry as well as the Glenview Fire Station," said Maple's PTO President Meena Wadhwa Klein.

She added that the volunteers were wonderful and people had a great time visiting with each other and talking to vendors that were present. Vendors included Runner's Edge, Timex, Asics and Chiro One, whose representatives explained the benefits of fitness to those who visited their booths.
