A Glenview nanny stole $600 from the wallets of children for whom she was caring, according to police.
Alexandra M. Donohue, 22, was arrested April 3 and charged with theft after she was questioned by Northbrook police, according to a press release.
Donohue was employed as a nanny for a Northbrook family, according to police. The family’s father reported March 22 finding $600 missing from his children’s wallets, the press release states.
The father felt the only person who could have taken the money was the nanny, according to police. When he questioned Donohue, she denied taking the money but was fired, said Northbrook police spokesman Mike Shep.
Police then questioned Donohue, who admitted taking the money, Shep said.
Donohue could not be reached for comment.
She was released from police custody last week on a $5,000 bond. She is due to appear at the Skokie courthouse May 1.

if the kids were young enough for a nanny what in the world were they doing with 600? Something isn’t right here.
I guess Northbrook kids need hefty carry-around money.
Okay, I’ll bite….why would kids have $600 in their wallet in the first place?
