Renee Perry – An Inspiring Toastmaster Who Loves To Help

Renee Perry of Lincoln Way Toastmasters

Renee Perry of Lincoln Way Toastmasters

At a recent Lincoln-Way Toastmasters' meeting, Renee Perry accomplished a major Toastmasters' goal. All Toastmasters are strongly encouraged to give ten speeches. Renee gave her tenth speech and thus gained the distinction of being a 'Competent Communicator' (CC). The title of her speech was a 'Life in the Balance'. In the speech, she stressed the importance of finding your passion in life, envisioning success doing your passion and then pursuing your vision of success. The objective of her speech was to inspire your audience. Her speech certainly did that.

Renee's speech was easy for her because she is also a business coach for entrepreneurs. She and her husband Mike Perry have been successful in their business ventures. Renee is ever ready to share her business success with others. One of Renee's passion is helping others. Being a business coach allows her to do just that, help others.

Renee joined Toastmasters to sharpen her presentation skills. When you ask Renee about Toastmasters, she says, 'I love the group of people – they are all the kindest and most supportive – which is vital for getting over your public speaking fear.'

In regards to giving her first ten speeches, Renee says, 'This has been a great process that has allowed me to speak more clearly and give more effective business presentations. Before going through the process, I had tons of ideas but no solid format. The CC process has allowed me the opportunity to focus my message as well as gain confidence in my presentation and speaking skills.'

Like Renee, the vast majority of people join Toastmasters to become better public speakers. Toastmasters does help people become better presenters, but their program is vast and goes far beyond giving ten speeches. Toastmasters has other programs that will continue to challenge and develop Renee. Nevertheless, Renee endorses Toastmasters because it has helped her to help others.
