Bethany Lutheran students take a trip to Behlehem

The kindergartners at Bethany Lutheran School in Naperville took a trip to Bethlehem this week to experience the first Christmas. The children traveled to Palos Park to re-enact the first Christmas as part of a live nativity. The children dressed in period costumes over warm winter clothes and walked the long path to Bethlehem. Mary, played by Gracie Stella, was led down to the stable on Bella the donkey.  Blake Barnickel portrayed Joseph. The angels led by Ella Gudgel delivered the baby Jesus to Mary. The shepherds soon followed with goats, sheep, chickens, a cow and a rabbit to see the birth of this special baby. Not far behind, the wise men Luke Fosdick, Mason Malone, and Ben Lamsma came to honor Jesus with gifts. The children sang Away in a Manger and Joy to the World as they gazed upon the wonderful gift God has given us. We wish all of you the awe and wonder of this first Christmas!
