Summer is the time to get ready to make a difference in the life of a child during the next school year. MetroMentors, a program of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage is now accepting applications for mentors to be trained this summer and matched one-to-one with youth in the fall of 2012. Students and their mentors will meet at one of 14 partner schools for one hour a week.

Children need positive role models who listen to them and support their goals and needs. Our mentors will do just that while supporting the child’s academic success and demonstrating good problem solving skills. A one school year commitment is required. Being a friend to a child is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable roles an adult can play.

MetroMentors also welcomes local businesses, service clubs and faith organizations to share talent, energy, skills, resources and time to benefit community youth.

Prior to being matched with a child, new mentors will complete an on-line application, an in- person interview, and a background check. Apply now to attend one of the mandatory trainings to take place this summer.

Visit our website at for more program information and the link to an online application. Interested adults can also contact Marsha Ndoko at 630-784-4836. Metropolitan Family Services DuPage is a non- profit social service agency based in Wheaton, that has been serving DuPage families for more than 75 years.
