Edward Hospital opens Travel Medicine Clinic

Edward Hospital has opened a Travel Medicine Clinic to help people with their healthcare needs and preparations for international trips.

Each year as many as 45 million Americans travel the world. As many as 25 percent of them will acquire some type of illness during their trip, including the common cold, diarrhea and some very serious, potentially fatal conditions.

It’s recommended to contact the Edward Travel Medicine Clinic at least six weeks before departure to allow time for necessary immunizations and assessment of any adverse reactions. A consultation at the Clinic includes a review of all planned destinations, time of year for the trip, purpose of the visit, duration of stay, allergy history, vaccination history and past medical history.
