Audition for a Scholarship to Train with Professional Choreographer and Performer

Come and meet professional choreographer and performer, Julie O’Connell and audition for a scholarship for Musical Theatre Summer Camp. Open auditions are Wednesday, May 30 at 6 pm at Alleluia Lutheran Church, downstairs in the dance studio located at 4055 S. Book Rd. in Naperville. Children aged 7 and up welcome. No experience is necessary only a love of the arts and an interest in perfecting performance skills.

Wear comfortable clothes or dance wear and dance or gym shoes. Be prepared to learn a dance combination, sing and act. More information about the audition and the camps to be held this summer are available online at www.alleluialutheran.org.

Julie and her sister Jeanne O'Connell's classic dance training provides students an opportunity to grow and learn solid technique in a positive, wholesome environment. Their professional approach brings out the best in each student while promoting discipline, fitness and self esteem.

About Julie O’Connell
Professional choreographer and performer, Julie O'Connell has more than four decades experience with credits including “42nd Street,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Anything Goes,” and “Music Man.” She has trained well-known actors and performers from New York City to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, including Drew Barrymore, Christina Applegate and Katie Holmes. She has worked for both the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants as a choreographer as well as on multiple television shows and commercials.

Julie has a tremendous ability to inspire young performers and bring out their personal best. Her students have gone on to enjoy much success. Julie's daughter Kelly Sheehan was the youngest performer in Broadway's “42 Street” revival from 2001-2004 and is currently part of the annual “White Christmas Broadway” cast. Another student, Alyson Stoner, performed in a music video for rapper Missy Elliot, the film “Cheaper by the Dozen” with Steve Martin and has toured with the Jonas Brothers.
