Free Workshop: Come With Your Message Leave with a Website

Two local web development companies will guide participants in building a basic website for their business, charitable event or organization during a free 90 minute workshop on Thursday, May 20. Registration is now open for the “Build a Website Workshop Webmasters Reveal the Magic” and seating is limited to 15 students.

Attendees bringing their laptop computers and marketing materials will be guided in creating their own website using a Content Management System called DotNetNuke. This widely used system is based on Microsofts .NET technology. Each attendee will be given access to their own web pages during the workshop and will walk through the steps to add their own logo, photos, and text. With the techniques they learn during the workshop, they can continue adding and editing the pages after they leave the class. If they decide to launch the website, workshop attendees pay only the $15 per month hosting fee. The DotNetNuke system continues to be free to use.

The finished website makes a great short-term microsite for marketing an event, but also serves as the foundation for a powerful business or organization website. DotNetNuke provides add-in modules to increase the website’s functionality.

This workshop to build websites using DotNetNukeNow is a joint effort by J&S Tech Design and Gnu Ventures Company, web developers serving the DuPage area since 1996. To learn more about the “Build a Website Workshop” and to register, visit
