SCAD 5K Walk for Research

On Saturday, May 5th the SCAD Walk for Research was held at Springbrook Prairie in Naperville to raise money for Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) Research being conducted at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Over 175 participants raised $20,000. The 5K Walk on Saturday created a wonderful opportunity for many SCAD survivors to meet for the first time. An informal meet & greet was held Friday evening at the Courtyard Marriott in Naperville. Saturday after the walk, Dr. Hayes & Dr. Tweet, the lead SCAD researchers from Mayo Clinic, presented their research at a luncheon attended by the SCAD survivors at BlackFinn American Saloon. Finally on Saturday evening the survivors attended a dinner at Dolce Amore in Naperville with their loved ones along with Bob Alico & his family who organized the walk in memory of Bob's wife, Judy, who did not survive her SCAD in January of 2011.
