Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia visits DCM

A menagerie of all of the colorful animals from Eric Carle's story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" came to life at DuPage Children's Museum for a really cool Family Fun Friday Night. Thanks to community partner, McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, who brought the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia to the Museum, DCM visitors were treated to a preview of the puppeteers Saturday morning performance. Only a sampling of the puppets from the show were brought to the Museum, but the children were able to touch and interact with all of them. In the normal theatre presentation, the puppets are seen under black lights to render the puppeteers "invisible". DCM visitors were able to see how the black lights in the Museum's Shadow Theatre exhibit charged the neon colors of each animal character. A truly "glowing" experience was had by all!
