Bike worth 5K stolen from garage, and more

The following items were taken from Naperville police records May 29.

Burglary

  • A 31-year-old man from the 0-99 block of West 112th Place, Chicago, was arrested about 4:57 a.m. May 27 in the 800 block of North Main Street and charged with three counts of burglary and one of resisting a peace officer.
  • A GPS and a wallet were stolen from an unlocked BMW in the driveway of a home in the 1300 block of Bards Avenue between 6 pm. May 27 and 7:45 a.m. May 28.
  • A specialized Transition bicycle valued at $5,500 was stolen from a garage in the 1000 block of North Main Street between 11:30 a.m. May 25 and 2:45 p.m. May 28.
  • A GPS and two sets of headphones were stolen from a locked Honda Odyssey in a driveway in the 3100 block of Austin Street between 8:15 p.m. May 27 and 7:47 a.m. May 28. There were no signs of forced entry.

Theft

  • A Mongoose BMX bicycle was stolen from the 1600 block of Ishnala Drive between 6 p.m. May 26 and 12 p.m. May 28.
  • A piece of a door was stolen from a hotel in the 1800 block of Centre Point Circle between 8 a.m. May 25 and 3:12 p.m. May 28, possibly to gain access to the hotel without paying.
  • A man stole a piece from a Black & Decker power sander from a store in the 700 block of Fort Hill Drive after discovering the sander he purchased several days prior for $49.99 was missing a part.
  • A woman stole a copper bracelet from a store in the 100 block of West Jefferson Avenue about 7:03 p.m. May 26. She fled with an accomplice but the bracelet was recovered.
  • A video game was stolen from a store in the 700 block of South Route 59 about 12:45 p.m. May 25 by a man who placed the discs into his pants pocket. He was cited for retail theft.

Suspicious incident

  • A man was found sleeping in a fourth-floor elevator lobby in the 0-99 block of West Van Buren Avenue about 4:19 a.m. May 26. He was wanted by the Downers Grove Police Department on a traffic warrant.

Disorderly conduct

  • An 18-year-old man from the 1100 block of Olympus Drive and an 18-year-old woman from the 200 block of Rivanna Court were arrested about 8:19 p.m. May 25 at the man’s home and charged with disorderly conduct. The woman also was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police received a report the pair had alarmed and disturbed the staff at a pizza restaurant in the 1800 block of Wehrli Road.
  • Neighbors in the 100 block of Standish Court got into an argument over a car getting wet from the sprinklers being turned on about 2:39 p.m. May 25.

Drugs

  • An 18-year-old woman from the 2400 block of Rio Grande Circle was arrested about 11:16 p.m. May 27 in the 1500 block of Hampton Court and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police received a call about a suspicious minivan in front of a resident’s home. The male driver was charged with DUI and possession of cannabis.
  • A 20-year-old man from the 800 block of East Ogden Avenue and a 24-year-old man from the 5400 block of Burr Oak Road, Lisle, were arrested about 12:09 a.m. May 27 at the 20-year-old’s home and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A 19-year-old woman from the 900 block of Riverstone Drive, Aurora, was arrested about 1:21 a.m. May 28 at West Ogden Avenue and South Route 59 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
  • A man stopped for a traffic violation at 87th Street and South Washington Street was cited for possession of cannabis about 12:59 a.m. May 25.

Speeding

  • A 45-year-old woman from the 2700 block of Silver Spur Court was arrested about 9:50 a.m. May 28 at Feldott Lane and West Ogden Avenue and charged with speeding 31-40 over. She was traveling 82 mph in a 40 zone.

Theft

  • A 47-year-old woman from the 28W700 block of Grommon Road was arrested about 8:02 p.m. May 27 in the 2600 block of West 75th Street and charged with retail theft.
  • A man stole $30 via a quick change scam in the 1700 block of North Aurora Road about 8:15 p.m. May 26.
  • A woman was cited for theft after taking someone’s cell phone and concealing it in her purse in the 0-99 block of West Jefferson Avenue about 2:19 a.m. May 26.

Damage

  • Several gouges were scratched into a Chevrolet Camaro in the 300 block of South Route 59 between 9:40 and 11:50 p.m. May 26.
  • A homeowner discovered someone damaged two of the window screens on her home in the 1200 block of Bainbridge Drive within the past year.
  • Two mailboxes in the 2700 block of Rutland Road were damaged between 9 p.m. May 25 and 2:52 a.m. May 26.
  • Someone pulled a No Parking sign out of the ground in the 800 block of Wilson Avenue and ignited the upper corner of it between 5 p.m. May 25 and 8:15 a.m. May 26.
  • The word snow was spray painted in purple on the rear of garages in the 1000 block of Heritage Hill Drive that face Ogden Avenue.

Deceptive practice

  • A 20-year-old man from the 100 block of D Street, Chattanooga, was arrested about 4:26 p.m. May 25 in the 2100 block of Cranberry Court and charged with deceptive practice.

Fighting

  • A 24-year-old man from the 1000 block of South 10th Avenue, Maywood, was arrested about 12:40 a.m. May 26 in the 0-99 block of West Jefferson Avenue and charged with fighting.

DUI

  • Police arrested three people for DUI between May 25 and 27 in addition to those listed above.
