Homemade explosive detonated at golf course, and more

The following items were taken from Naperville police records May 25.

Theft

  • Someone stole two flags and detonated a homemade type of explosive device in the middle of the driving range of a golf course in the 2200 block of 83rd Street between 9:30 p.m. May 21 and 5:30 a.m. May 22. A manager found pieces of glass and aluminum foil on the grass but damage was minimal.
  • A black concrete urn containing a small evergreen was stolen from the front of a store in the 100 block of Jackson Avenue between 4 p.m. May 20 and 9:30 a.m. May 21.
  • A license plate was stolen in the 2700 block of Fitness Drive May 19.
  • A 59-year-old man from the 1500 block of Derby Court was arrested about 9:04 p.m. May 21 in the 1300 block of South Route 59 and charged with retail theft.
  • Six grounding buss bars valued at $1,500 were stolen from a fenced in cell tower station in the 1700 block of North Aurora Road.
  • A commercial backpack blower was stolen from an open landscaping trailer in the 1600 block of Kiowa Drive between 8 and 11:30 a.m. May 22.
  • A plastic yard sign in a metal frame was stolen from the 0-99 block of West Franklin Avenue between 6 p.m. May 17 and 9:30 a.m. May 22.
  • A red bicycle was stolen from the front lawn in the 2500 block of Carrolwood Road between 5:50 and 8 p. m. May 22.
  • Someone pumped gas into a vehicle and left the station in the 1500 block of North Aurora Road without paying about 10:22 p.m. May 22.
  • Three tires were stolen from a parking lot in the 1300 block of East Ogden Avenue between 12 and 12:30 p.m. May 23.

Burglary

  • A vehicle was burglarized in the 1500 block of Fairway Drive between 8 and 8:15 a.m. May 21.
  • A vehicle was burglarized in the 800 block of Douglas Avenue between 4:30 and 4:56 a.m. May 22.
  • A GPS, iPad and credit cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of West Jefferson Avenue between 9 p.m. May 21 and 6:02 a.m. May 22.
  • An iPod cord and wallet were stolen from two vehicles inside an unlocked garage in the 300 block of Spring Avenue between 10 p.m. May 21 and 5 a.m. May 22.
  • Keys and cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of North West Street between 10:30 p.m. May 21 and 6:31 a.m. May 22.
  • An ID, cash and ear buds were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of North Fremont Street between 10 p.m. May 21 and 7 a.m. May 22.
  • Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 0-99 block of North Eagle Street between 9 p.m. May 21 and 8:29 a.m. May 2
  • A garage and the vehicle inside it in the 200 block of Spring Avenue were entered between 8 p.m. May 21 and 8:30 a.m. May 22. Nothing was taken.
  • An unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of West Jefferson Avenue was rummaged through between 8 p.m. May 21 and 8 a.m. May 22. Nothing was taken.
  • A camera bag was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of School Street between 9:15 p.m. May 21 and 7:40 a.m. May 22. The bag was then located next to the neighbor’s garage.
  • Property was removed from an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of West Franklin Avenue between 1:30 and 8:45 a.m. May 22.
  • Someone entered a vehicle in the 100 block of North Eagle Street between 5 p.m. May 21 and 3 p.m. May 22. Nothing was stolen.
  • Someone entered a vehicle in the 400 block of Spring Avenue between 4 p.m. May 21 and 6:30 a.m. May 22. Nothing was stolen.
  • A subwoofer/amplifier was stolen out of an unsecured Jeep Wrangler in the 400 block of Spring Avenue between 12:01 and 7 a.m. May 23.
  • A watch and golf clubs were stolen from a vehicle in an open garage in the 3800 block of Grassmere Road between 8:30 p.m. May 22 and 8:20 a.m. May 23.
  • Numerous vehicles were burglarized in the 100 block of North Ewing Street between 9 p.m. May 21 and 8 a.m. May 22.
  • A 17-year-old man from the 900 block of West New York Street, Aurora, was arrested about 7:05 a.m. May 24 in the 1400 block of Fairway Drive and charged with burglary from a motor vehicle by force.
  • Tools were stolen from a van in the 1300 block of Bond Street about 11:31 a.m. May 24.

Damage

  • A vehicle was damaged in the 0-99 block of Center Street about 2:54 a.m. May 21.
  • A mailbox was ripped from its post and deposited into the middle of a driveway in the 1500 block of Saranell Avenue May 20.
  • A patio door was shattered in the 1500 block of Fairway Drive about 7 p.m. May 21.
  • Someone struck a garage door in the 1500 block of Nicholas Court about 3 p.m. with an unknown object causing a large dent.
  • A mailbox was knocked off its post and damaged in the 800 block of Muirhead Avenue May 22 or 23.
  • Graffiti was found on an electric box in the 400 block of South Charles Avenue about 12:07 p.m. May 23.
  • A soft top passenger window was slashed on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler in the 800 block of North Mill Street between 5:30 p.m. May 22 and 10:56 a.m. May 23.
  • Graffiti was found in the 400 block of South Charles Avenue about 1:17 p.m. May 23.
  • A car was keyed in the 1600 block of Lonsdale Avenue between 5 p.m. May 17 and 4:46 p.m. May 23.
  • All tires on two vehicles were punctured in the 2700 block of Wendy Drive between 10 p.m. May 23 and 5:30 a.m. May 24.
  • A vehicle was keyed in the 2500 block of West 75th Street between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. May 19.
  • A tire was punctured in the 4200 block of Falkner Drive between 6:30 p.m. May 23 and 1 a.m. May 24.

Stolen vehicle

  • A vehicle was stolen from the 1400 block of West Ogden Avenue between 6 p.m. May 19 and 11 a.m. May 21.

Disorderly conduct

  • A woman reported she has been receiving harassing messages on Facebook from a person she believes to be a family member of her ex-boyfriend between Sept. 12, 2011 and May 22.

Trespass

  • An 18-year-old man from the 100 block of Testa Drive was arrested about 3:34 p.m. May 21 near the railroad tracks and North River Road and charged with criminal trespass to land.

Drugs

  • An 18-year-old man from the 2700 block of Springdale Circle was arrested about 4:22 p.m. May 22 at West Ogden Avenue and South Route 59 and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
  • A 19-year-old woman from the 100 block of South Highpoint Drive, Romeoville, was arrested about 10:29 p.m. May 24 at South Washington Street and Hillside Road and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
  • A 45-year-old woman from the 800 block of Benedetti Drive was arrested about 1:41 p.m. May 24 in the 600 block of North Route 59 and charged with unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance.
  • A 20-year-old man from the 1600 block of Cumberland Road, Aurora, was arrested about 11:46 p.m. May 24 at North Aurora Road and Frontenac Road and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.

Weapon

  • A 51-year-old man from the 800 block of Pomeroon Street was arrested about 12:33 a.m. May 24 at his home and charged with possession of a firearm without a valid FOID, illegal possession of ammunition without a FOID, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with domestic reporting.

 DUI

  • A 34-year-old man from the 1200 block of Chalet Road was arrested about 3:52 a.m. May 21 in the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue and charged with DUI and operating an uninsured vehicle.
  • A 49-year-old man from the 200 block of Steamboat Lane, Bolingbrook, was arrested about 8:11 p.m. May 23 at West 75th Street and Book Road and charged with DUI, illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver, driving on a suspended/revoked license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
