They say you can’t hurry love, but a Naperville man told police he just couldn’t wait.

Zachary Ramirez, 21, of the 1400 block of Fairway Drive, was caught driving 111 mph in a 45 mph zone on the city’s south side and told police he had amorous intentions, according to a report filed with Naperville police.

“He stated he was going fast because he was trying to go have sex with a girl he likes,” Sgt. Gregg Bell said.

Police first spotted Ramirez driving north on Plainfield Naperville Road near 87th Street about 2 a.m. April 21. Bell said Ramirez also ran both a red light and stop sign. Officers caught up to him at River and Oswego roads and upon searching his vehicle, found a small amount of suspected cannabis, according to Bell.

Ramirez was arrested and charged with speeding more than 40 mph over the limit, possession of cannabis, reckless driving, disobeying a traffic control signal and disobeying a stop sign.
