Checkbook stolen during Mass, and more

The following items were taken from Naperville police records.

Drugs

  • An 18-year-old man from the 2400 block of Wendover Drive was arrested about 11 p.m. April 23 in the 1300 block of Wehrli Road and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of firearms, possession of liquor by a minor, and failure to give signal.
  • A 19-year-old man from the 1100 block of Needham Road was arrested about 5:18 p.m. April 24 in the 800 block of East Ogden Avenue and charged with manufacturing/delivering cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • An 18-year-old man from the 1200 block of Whispering Hills Court was arrested about 3:57 p.m. April 25 at South Washington Street and West Chicago Avenue and charged with possession of cannabis.
  • A 20-year-old man from the 3400 block of Poet Court was arrested about 5:22 p.m. April 25 at Plainfield Naperville Road and Conan Doyle Road and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
  • A 19-year-old man from the 3600 block of South Winchester Drive, Chicago, was arrested about 3:57 p.m. April 25 in the 200 block of South Washington Street and charged with possession of cannabis.

Weapon

  • A 20-year-old man from the 3200 block of Pleasant Garden Road, Greensboro, was arrested about 11:09 p.m. April 23 in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue and charged with two counts of unlawful use of weapons and one each of possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass. He had previously been told to leave the store, but returned and was found to be in possession of two cannabis pipes and a switchblade knife fashioned inside metal knuckles.

Theft

  • A bicycle was stolen from the 400 block of Fairway Drive on April 21.
  • A wallet was stolen from a locker room in the 1800 block of Brookdale Road April 19 or 20.
  • A smart meter installer’s tool bag was stolen in the 1500 block of Clyde Drive after he left it unattended for 15 minutes between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. April 24.
  • A 59-year-old woman from the 1900 block of Wilcox, Crest Hill, was arrested about 1:02 p.m. April 24 in the 1200 block of South Naper Boulevard after stealing $300 worth of merchandise. The manager refused to press charges but the woman had a warrant out of Will County for retail theft.
  • A secured bicycle was stolen from the train station in the 300 block of North Washington Street between 6:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. April 24.
  • A checkbook was stolen out of a woman’s purse while she was going to Communion during Mass in the 700 block of Aurora Avenue on April 22.

Burglary

  • A GPS, three pairs of sunglasses and two sets iTouch chargers were stolen from a vehicle in the 2200 block of Aurora Avenue between 1:30 p.m. April 21 and 7 a.m. April 23. Someone smashed a window to gain entry.
  • An 18-year-old man from the 3000 block of Long Grove Lane, Aurora, and a 19-year-old man from the 2200 block of Bannister Lane, Aurora, were arrested about 12:01 a.m. April 24 in the 3400 block of South Route 59 and charged with residential burglary and trespass to vehicle.
  • A 19-year-old man from the 2200 block of South Crescent Lane, Aurora, was arrested about 2:12 a.m. April 24 at his home and charged with residential burglary and trespass to residence.

Battery

  • A 27-year-old man from the 4100 block of Landing Drive, Aurora, was arrested about 12:05 a.m. April 24 in the 400 block of East Ogden Avenue and charged with three counts of battery and one of knowingly damaging property.

Damage

  • A bedroom window was damaged by a BB in the 1000 block of North Mill Street between 6 and 9 p.m. April 22.
  • Sugar was poured into the gas tank of a vehicle in the 1500 block of Lighthouse Drive between April 21 and 24.

DUI

  • A 39-year-old man from the 1500 block of Roth Drive, Joliet, was arrested about 9:27 p.m. April 24 at 111th Street and South Route 59 and charged with two counts of DUI.
