Sports Person of the Month contest voting ends at 9 p.m.

The Triblocal/Valley Honda Sports Person of the Month Contest returns this month and features deserving student athletes from local high schools.

Go to www.triblocal.dev/hspm to view the athletes nominated for this month and to cast your vote.
This is the second year in a row that Valley Honda and Triblocal have teamed up to recognize student athletes and make donations to local schools.
Each month, Triblocal, in conjunction with Athletics2000.com and participating schools, will nominate worthy athletes from local schools and your votes will decide who wins.
Contest sponsor Valley Honda will donate $500 to the winners school, and the athlete will be honored with a plaque.

After you register, you can also tell us why your athlete deserves to win by posting a comment.
Once you are registered, you can also share stories, photos and events in your neighborhood at Triblocal.com and you may see them in print on Thursdays.
This months nominees include:
West Aurora
Aviance King is a returning all-conference wide receiver for the Blackhawks. He also is a Division I prospect in football and as a high jumper in track. King is a multi-year state qualifier in track.
Naperville North
Ben Nelson is a three-year varsity captain and placed third at the Naperville Invite and first in the Naperville School District 203 Ryder cup, shooting 70.
He shot 35 against Oak Park River Forest.  Last year, Nelson was a sectional qualifier and DuPage Valley All Conference.
Naperville Central
Last year as a junior, Nick Linne was a starter as quarterback in football and a guard on the undefeated DVC champion boys basketball team. For the sectional champion baseball team, Linne played as a first baseman/outfielder. Linne has committed to Northwestern University to play baseball next year.
Benet Academy
Jeff Schmittgens is a defensive end for Benet. He had two assists, three solos, two tackles for losses, one fumble caused, one knock down and one fumble recovery for a touchdown versus Oswego East.
Voting ends
Voting will end at 9 p.m. Sept. 17. Individuals can vote only once for their favorite
athlete.
