The Northwest Choral Society presents final concert of the season

Northwest Choral Society, under the direction of artistic director Alan Wellman, will present its final concerts of the season, entitled “SHOUT!” on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Des Plaines, IL and on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Prospect, IL.
Motown hits by Marvin Gaye, John Fogerty and Smokey Robinson are on the “SHOUT!” program, along with music of the Temptations, the Supremes and the Jackson 5. The concert will include a medley of Grammy nominated songs from the Fab Four with additional music of Tina Turner, Neil Diamond, and Aretha Franklin. The era would not be complete without songs by the Beatles. This concert will be sure to make you want to dance!

A complimentary preconcert lecture and discussion of the music will be hosted by chorus member John Morrison 45 minutes prior to each concert.

Founded in 1965, the Northwest Choral Society is a non-profit organization that promotes and encourages the appreciation, understanding and performance of a wide variety of outstanding choral literature. Its adult membership resides in Chicago and the northwest suburbs.
