Harper Kicks Off 2010 InZone Summer Camp

Taking classes over the summer isn’t usually fun, but it can be. In Zone, Harper College’s annual summer enrichment camp for children ages 8 to 14, kicked off Monday, June 7 with a host of courses to pique kids’ interest – from a soccer camp culminating with a Chicago Fire game to a how-to course on designing action-packed computer games and a writing class that lets participants create a book from cover to cover. About 250 courses covering sports, music, fashion, dance, cooking, reading, science and more will be offered throughout the summer. “The program is designed to help children experience brand-new activities and develop already existing skills,” In Zone Coordinator Kevin Hahn says. “With the facilities that we have and the amount of activities we offer, there’s absolutely an activity for everyone this summer.” Classes run early June through mid-August, with before- and after-camp care available.
