A tour of the Butterfield Early Childhood Center in Lombard

Despite a labor strike and record flooding that could have delayed its completion, the Butterfield Early Childhood Center in Lombard Elementary School District 44 has opened on schedule to the delight of district officials.

“This is a project that came in on time and under budget,” District 44 Supt. Jim Blanche said at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Jan. 11. “I am so proud to be associated with a school board that puts their youngest learners first.”
