We will use both traditional and contemporary sources to inform ourselves with an eye towards developing our own ethical understanding on each of our challenging and relevant topics. No prior knowledge is required.

Oh God, You Devil:
God is portrayed in many different ways in the Hebrew Bible, not all of them so warm and fuzzy. In this course we will explore some of the more challenging portrayals of God, consider how some traditional (and not-so-traditional) Jewish thinkers dealt with them and discuss how this impacts our own understanding of God. Through our discussions we will work towards clarifying our individual theologies and beliefs. No prior knowledge is required.
