Have a portrait in mind you’ve always dreamt of? Wancket Studios, one of the top photography studios in the country, is commemorating 25 years in business by giving away 25 portrait sessions valued at $720 each. See the story below for details.

Twenty-five lucky winners will receive portrait sessions valued at $720 each from Spring Grove based Wancket Studios. Luck, however, really doesn't have anything to do with it. Rather, the winning entries will need to pull on the heart strings and conjure emotions of judges if the entrants hope to win.

It's actually something of an essay contest. Entrants are asked to respond to one basic question: “What is your dream portrait?” The winners will receive a portrait sessions from world-renowned photographer Audrey Wancket. Wancket is giving away the photo sessions to commemorate her 25th year in business: one session awarded for each of the 25 years she’s been in business.

"We all have a story to tell," Wancket said. "I want to know peoples' stories. I want to hear their dreams. That's what this contest is about."

She said the stories can draw on the heartstrings. They can also be funny or random. Entrants can even write about why someone they know should receive a portrait session.

Wancket, who was named the 2011 Photographer of the Year by the Professional Photographers of America, said the contest is her way of thanking all the clients who have allowed her to enjoy these years of creating family heirlooms that now adorn the walls of homes from coast to coast and beyond.

"I wouldn't have had this wonderful opportunity if my clients hadn't given me their trust and allowed me into their hearts and families," Wancket said. "I am so incredibly thankful for each of the 25 years I've been blessed to operate this business."

Wancket's portraits are known for a unique quality that is akin to a fine oil painting. Many of the portraits she creates are mounted on canvas, a medium consistent with the visual texture of her portraits.

Wancket said there are other fine styles of photography. However, she added, "While I do appreciate other styles, I truly love what I do. I have more than 100 backdrops for my photographs and a studio full of accessories – all of these are intended to capture and enhance the portrait quality of my photography. It's what makes what I do unique."

To submit an entry, send your story in a private message to Wancket's Facebook page, or send an e-mail to: wancketstudios@mac.com. For those who don't have access to the Internet, Wancket said she's also accepting entries at 7818 Pillow Hill Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081.
