TribLocal High School Player of the Month voting is underway


The TribLocal High School Player of The Month contest is underway featuring deserving student athletes from local high schools.

Liberty Auto City in Libertyville and TribLocal have teamed up to recognize student athletes and make donations to local schools.

Contest sponsor Liberty Auto City will make a monetary donation to the winner’s school and the athlete will be honored with a plaque. Any registered user of may vote. Registering is easy and free. To vote click here

Voting in the contest will end at 9 p.m. Dec. 22.

The nominees include:


Senior Girls Volleyball player, Rachel Baader had 60 kills, 6 aces, and 44 digs in 5 matches in the playoffs. She helped the team win a regional and sectional title, as well as leading it into the super-sectionals against Cary Grove.


Alex Haley As a senior, Haley will be one of the leaders on the basketball team. Recently, she signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Minot State University.


Mundelein cross country runner Marissa Perreault finished 27th with a time of 18:43.74 at the Sectional meet at Busse Woods to qualify for the state meet.

Vernon Hills

Sydney Smith had 23 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals for Vernon Hills in the team’s win over Lake Forest Academy and she had 11 points in win over Ridgewood.


Carmel is favored to win state title this year in gymnastic and Kristin Mirski is a big reason why. Last year Mirski won a state title in the floor exercise and was third in the vault.

Lake Zurich

Jack Lynn had 3 catches for 47 yards and a touchdown as well as 8 tackles and a forced fumble in playoff win over Elk Grove.


Diana Enriquez had 15 points and 6 rebounds as Wauconda beat Belvidere
