In Joliet, memories of Will County tornado remain vivid

It’s often referred to as the Plainfield Tornado of 1990, but the 16.4 mile path of the twister also cut through other communities blowing roofs off buildings and uprooting trees.

“It should be called the Will County Tornado,” said Jeremy Hylka, meteorologist and director of the Joliet Weather Center. “It hit Crest Hill and Joliet just as much. The damage was just as severe.”
