Joliet- The end of the 2012 Preseason ended Saturday evening with some exciting new things for the Buccaneers future. The outcome of the game Saturday evening was not what the Buccaneers were expecting, but it’s a start for the future.

The Buccaneers lost to the Chi-Town Blaze in Evanston, IL 44-12 in their preseason finale. “It wasn't what I was looking for, but I'm excited for what is in-store for the regular season,” said Head Coach Ken Hinkle. I'm pleased with the offensive production, and I am also pleased with the defensive production, as it relates to stopping teams from scoring.

The Buccaneers have been out scored in this preseason 80-25, but that doesn’t reflect what the offensive production has produced, over the last couple of games with the emergence of former Bolingbrook High School graduate and rookie QB #12 Brad Geever.

“Brad is a leader, and the offense is going to go where he goes,” said Offense Coach Andre Ward. “Coach Burgess and I have been building an offensive line over the last couple of months, to protect this young man. It’s still a work in progress, but we’re going to get it done.”

With the Buccaneers offense gaining confidence every week, they still have to shore up their defense. The defense has always been the Buccaneers strength over the years, but this year the defense is all new, with exceptions of a couple of different players coming back from last year. “Our defense will be fine, said veteran Defensive End # 88 Rafael Parker. We played the last 2 games with backups being starters, and getting a feel for the game, were going to have some mistakes, but not a lot of mistakes.

The Buccaneers will open its first two MSFL Regular Season home games Saturday July 14 and 21 in (Downers Grove, IL) at Doerhofer Park, 7pm Kick-off and $5.00 admission to all fans inside the gate.
