National Women’s Health Week draws to a befitting close at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center on Saturday, May 19, 2012, with the third annual Powerful Women, “Wake-Up Call!”
Attendees will enjoy a live “TV talk-show” program, and will feel empowered to make their health a top priority despite their busy lives. The physician “guests” will be asked questions regarding healthcare issues affecting women today. These medical experts will discuss leading-edge treatments available through their offices and Saint Joseph Medical Center as well as candidly answer questions from the host and audience.

Topics such as the controversial vaginal mesh and bladder sling, early menopause, hormone replacement, radiation risks, and the important role of the primary care physician will be highlighted.

Guest speakers Drs.Wendy Marshall, surgeon; Mickey Jester,diagnostic radiologist; Nahla Merhi,gynecologist; and Deirdra Greathouse-Williams, family practice, are four powerful women who will be among those physicians practicing in Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center’s new Healing Arts Pavilion scheduled to open in New Lenox this July.

This exciting FREE program will be held in the Medical Center’s Bruce J Wallin, M.D. Auditorium from 8:30 – 11 a.m., and will include health screenings, information booths and mini-massages.

Wake Up Call promises to be reminiscent of scenes from The Ellen Show, Jay Leno and Letterman as the morning unfolds with the physicians interacting both with the show’s host and the audience. Complete with commercial breaks and even a healthy cooking segment, this Powerful Women Series is not to be missed!
