High School Photography Showcase of Illinois

JOLIET, IL ─ The Photographic Arts Society, Ainsworth-Gallery and Calumet Photographic have joined forces to support the next generation of photographers by organizing a photography contest open to all current high school students in the state of Illinois.

After reviewing 400 submissions from many talented photography students, thirty photographs have been selected for the First Exposure Exhibition held at the Ainsworth-Gallery, Joliet IL.
This is a great opportunity for young photographers to get feedback on their work, receive state-wide recognition, have their photography in a prominent gallery, and have their photographs published online. This is a juried exhibition. Students with award winning photographs will receive prizes from our generous sponsors.

The gallery opening and artist’s reception, is being held on Saturday, April 14th at the Ainsworth-Gallery located at 721 Taylor Street, Joliet, IL from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Open to the public. The exhibit will run from April 14th through May 11, 2012.
