Star Gazing

On March 15, 2012, see why Midewin offers a great “dark sky” experience for star gazing. Ken Plecki, President of the Kankakee Area Star Gazers, along with their volunteers, will provide for your viewing pleasure the use of telescopes as large as 20” in diameter to explore the night sky. Targets include the moon, galaxies, planets, nebula, double stars and star clusters. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the presentation will be held indoors where you can explore the star-gazing equipment, have a Q&A session with the experts and enjoy an indoor audio-visual presentation.

The lectures are FREE of charge and begin at 7:00 PM. Complimentary beverages will be provided courtesy of the Midewin Alliance.

Reservations are recommended and should be made by March 15, 2012 either via e-mail at Midewin_RSVP@fs.fed.us or by calling 815/423-6370. Walk-ins are welcome, but seating can not be guaranteed without a reservation.
