Joliet Mayor Tom Giarrante and the City of Joliet continue to congratulate the Joliet Area Historical Museum on their ongoing special exhibit “Bucket Brigades to Tactical Units” honoring the Joliet Police and Fire Departments.

Giarrante stated, “as a former Joliet firefighter, I can personally recognize the artifacts and memorabilia on display within this exhibit.” Mayor Giarrante continued to encourage the Joliet community to visit this exhibit and the museum honoring the Joliet area heritage now through June 11, 2011.

In addition, the Joliet Area Historical Museum will be hosting a free “Block Party” event on Saturday May 14, 2011 from 10am – 4pm outside the museum at 204 N. Chicago Street in Downtown Joliet. The event will feature Joliet police and fire vehicles on display, as well as K-9 Units, SWAT Vehicles and more! AT&T will also be unveiling their “No Text While Driving” Campaign at the Saturday event.
