Open Lens III Photography Exhibit

Open Lens III, the third annual juried fine art photography exhibition at Gallery 7, 116 N. Chicago St. Suite 102 in downtown Joliet opens to the public Wednesday June 6 and runs through Saturday July 28. A reception for the show will be held Saturday June 16 from 6:30-9pm where the public can meet the artists and award winners will be announced. All exhibited artwork is for sale.

This year over 500 images were submitted for consideration to be of the 50 selected for the exhibition. A myriad of photographic styles and subject matter are represented: a macro shot of a spring green stem heavy with rain droplets, each one reflecting purple columbine; a portrait of a white tropical bird in full exhibition of beauty; a luminous sun shaft piercing a red rock slot canyon; the gentle unfurling of a new fern frond; a black and white landscape of trees, fog and water that creates a "fools your eye" image.

"Open Lens III" has exceeded the previous years' entries in quantity and quality.", says Marian Corley of Gallery 7. "On June 16, make an evening of it at Gallery 7.", she says further. "Come to see this truly beautiful show, enjoy a refreshing beverage and complimentary hors d'oeuvres’, and perhaps discover an artwork that you just can't live without."
