Leslie Coolidge encourages Huntley residents to help assemble care packages for US troops

Congressional nominee Leslie Coolidge is encouraging volunteers from Huntley to join her in helping assemble care packages for American troops serving overseas during the Operation USO Care Packages event – organized by the USO – on Monday, June 18th at the Navy Pier Far East End Ballroom in Chicago.

Coolidge and her volunteers will be assembling the care packages between 11 AM and 1 PM and Huntley residents who wish to join Team Coolidge for this event should contact Brandon Noel at Noel@CoolidgeForCongress.com. Noel is a US veteran who is active with the USO and other organizations seeking to improve the lives of American troops and their families.

The USO is an organization founded during World War II with a mission to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families. The USO is active at hundreds of locations around the world, and has a permanent center at Navy Pier.

Transportation information and directions to Navy Pier can be found here: http://www.navypier.com/visit_us/get_here.html.

Volunteers:
• should be able to lift twenty pounds of materials
• should be prepared to stand during the volunteer shift
• should wear comfortable shoes that are not open-toed.
• must be at least 21 years of age.

USO organizers of the June 18th event have a goal of stuffing 10,000 care packages for brave men and women serving in the US military overseas and volunteers from Huntley can help make this a reality!
